NOTES: thoughtsicles prompt: bachelorette party
SUMMARY: "Second thoughts?"

Liz downs another shot and asks the bartender for more. He gives her a look like she's had enough, but the glare she gives him is enough incentive to make him pour her a sixth shot.

"Will you get back over here?!" she can hear Jenna calling after her. "We want you to open all your naughty presents!"

She rolls her eyes and ignores the shouts of Jenna and the other women, smiling gratefully at the bartender before downing that sixth shot.

A voice to her left draws her attention then: low, male... definitely not one of the party's attendees. "Don't you think you should get back over there?"

"Why should I? I'd hate to ruin their fun." She chuckles at herself. "I can't believe my maid of honor and bridesmaids are having more fun at my bachelorette party than I am."

"You're getting married?"

She nods, still not having looked up at the man sitting beside her. "Tomorrow."

"Then why so glum?" he prods. "Second thoughts?"

"Not really, just... cold feet I guess."

"Some would say those two things are one and the same."

"Do you love him?"

She looks up now and finds herself staring into a bottomless pair of blue eyes. Liz is almost entranced by them in her state of inebriation. "Yeah. I do."

"Then what's the problem?"

"I don't know. I just... I'm still not sure if he's the right guy for me."

"Well what's he like?"

"He's the head of NBC."

"Okay, that sounds... intimidating."

She laughs. "Yeah. And he's rich and gorgeous and has already been married. He's pompous and egotistical and he treats me like a goddess, and I... I don't know that I want all of that."

"You know what I think you need?"

She watches the man lean toward her, until he's just inches from her face. "I think you need something to take your mind off this guy."

"Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting?"

He grins and her heart flips down into her stomach and back up again. "You've never had anonymous sex at a bar before?"

Another chuckle bursts from her lips before she replies, "No, and I've never cheated before."

"Well there's a first time for everything. Come on." He tilts his head toward the restrooms, and Liz follows his gaze. "I'll go into the men's room and lock the door. After a minute, you follow me. It'll be fun."

Before she can say another word, he's started off for the bathroom and Liz is left alone with her thoughts. She first looks over her shoulder at her bridesmaids who, predictably, are tearing into her presents without her. Then she looks down into her empty shot glass and thinks about Jack. About how much he loves her, how much he's changed her, and how much more she'll change once she's married to a high-powered executive like him.

It's those thoughts that make her nauseous, and before she can second-guess herself any longer, she gets up and heads to the bathroom, knocking on the door. One tug inside from the man's strong hand and suddenly she's against the wall. His lips are on hers while his hands tug at her top, untucking it from her skirt. Then her legs are around his waist, skirt bunching up around her hips; he's pushing down his pants, shoving her panties aside, and thrusting up into her.

She cries out and throws her head back against the tile wall. If she weren't so drunk, she figures it probably would've hurt more. But for now, all she can feel is him. And when it's all over and she slides down the wall, Liz smiles up into those blue eyes and presses a kiss to the man's lips. "There. Happy now?"

Jack smiles down at her. "Very much so, yes. I told you a little role-playing never hurt anyone."

"Are you sure about that? I just cheated on you and you're okay with it?"

"You were cheating on me with me, Lemon. That hardly counts. Besides, I know in reality you would never cheat." He pauses. "You're not truly having second thoughts, are you?"

"What? No, of course not."

"Good. Very good."

"Yeah well, I still don't see why we had to do this role-playing thing at my bachelorette party."

"To heighten the excitement, Lemon. Besides, I needed an excuse to leave my bachelor party." As they leave the restroom, his hand on the small of her back, he frowns. "I'm fairly certain the stripper had tuberculosis."

Liz laughs and kisses him goodnight before going back to her party.
