Intoxicated Valentines [30 Rock; Jack/Liz]
TITLE: Intoxicated Valentines (OR: The Importance of Sobriety on the Fourteenth of February)
FANDOM: 30 Rock
SPOILERS: Season one
RATING: R for this chapter
SONG: Lover I Don't Have To Love covered by Bettie Serveert (originally by Bright Eyes) -- it is quite sexy-sounding, and I listened to this on repeat while writing this chapter -- it sets the tone, so I highly recommend listening to it!

Once Jenna had pried all the information out of Liz that she wanted, the aspirin was finally relinquished. Liz had taken them gratefully and then banned anyone from entering her office. A nap was needed. Desperately. And Jenna had agreed with her whole-heartedly, and told her to drink lots of water (as if she was five years old and didn't know how to handle a hangover), and maybe listen to some soft music.

So Liz laid down on her couch and pulled out her iPod. Flipping through her playlists, she decided against listening to Annie or Phantom or even Wicked, because she just had to have the volume up on those and sing along, and... that was not good for her hangover. Or anyone, for that matter.

She found a playlist of songs Jenna had loaded on there for her (that she never really intended to listen to, because she had a feeling she'd find "Muffin Top" hidden in there somewhere). She decided that while she was sleeping off a hangover would be the best time to listen to it.

She popped her earbuds in and laid back, hitting play and starting to doze. She groaned when the first song to come out was by Hilary Duff. She quickly clicked over to the next one (while wondering what the hell was wrong with Jenna -- seriously, Hilary Duff??) and settled in again. The next one sounded like it might end up being okay -- it was a cover of a Bright Eyes song, which Liz was pretty much okay with. She set it on repeat in the hopes of avoiding the rest of the playlist and let herself doze off.

Thankfully, her headache started to fade after the first couple of plays. By the third time the song started up again, Liz's headache had disappeared, and she was on her way to falling asleep. The song was rather good, too, about a one-night stand (which Liz found to be extremely ironic), and it was almost sexy sounding. And unfortunately, it was that song that started spurring memories of the night before. They came trickling back to her slowly in flashes as she fell asleep, almost like a dream, with the song looping in and out.

There was a flash and suddenly Liz was in the dimly lit Rainbow Room, gently swirling her glass of Pinot Grigio on the white tablecloth and smirking at Jack after he had asked her to dance. After her first refusal and his insistence. Her own voice echoed in her head as she told him, "You don't wanna see me dance, Jack. It's not pretty," to which Jack had responded smoothly over his scotch, "Lemon, I have no desire to watch you dance. I want to dance with you."

Another flash (almost as if she'd blinked) and suddenly she and Jack were on the dance floor. One of his hands was on her lower back, clutching her close, while the other held her hand. The song wasn't too slow, nor was it too fast. Jack led, not surprisingly, and Liz did her best to follow without sending them both tumbling. At one point the music had slowed and he'd gotten a certain look on his face. She saw it turned on her in slow motion. A slight smile twitched at his lips, and his blue eyes kinda twinkled at her. He had pressed her closer and Liz remembered sucking in her breath at the sensation that had traveled up and down her spine, and she'd made him promise her (in that Donaghy rasp that always had a way of scraping her nerve endings), "Just one more dance."

Another flash and she was in a high-end bar with Jack. He was grinning at her in that purely Donaghy way and she was giggling at him, both over their Grey Goose martinis. She didn't know why she was giggling. All she knew was that her head felt pleasantly fuzzy and she was having a great time with Jack. There was no talk of work, it was just the two of them enjoying each other's company (while they enjoyed their alcohol). Liz vaguely remembered him telling a joke and, on a whim she had reached out and touched his knee while they sat facing each other on their bar chairs. Jack had complimented her (surprisingly leaving the insult part out of it), telling her, "You look positively radiant when you laugh, Lemon."

Liz felt the slow motion again, reliving it as she shyly looked down. Some of her curled hair tumbled into her face which Jack leaned forward to catch, tucking it delicately behind her ear. His touch lingered just a little longer than necessary, as did his gaze, and something had clicked in Liz. "I think we should maybe leave."

"I think so, too," Jack had said, and turned to her with a grin. "Where to next?"

Another flash and she was halfway through an Appletini, at yet another fancy bar. Jack was regaling her with his tales of mountain climbing, or... maybe about a business meeting? She had no idea. All she knew was she was feeling wonderfully dizzy and Jack's stories were suddenly hilarious. He had his arm draped over the back of her bar chair while they sat angled slightly toward each other, and his thumb occasionally brushed her shoulder blade when he made gestures with that hand. But she didn't mind in the slightest.

Rather, she kind of encouraged him a little bit. She demurely crossed one leg over the other and resituated her dress while reaching out to bat at his knee occasionally. At one point, Jack grabbed her hand for emphasis and just... didn't let go. Their eyes caught (again, just like in slow motion), and Liz thought she saw something in those blue eyes of his. He looked like he wanted to say something, but instead all he said was, "I think it's time for us to go." And she hadn't disagreed.

Another flash and Jack was still hanging on to her hand while they waited for his limo outside. While he looked around, Liz felt him idly stroking the back of her hand with his thumb... almost affectionately. She shivered and Jack turned to ask if she was cold. She was, but she wasn't sure that's what made her shiver. She watched Jack chuckle and shake his head at her, and a vapor trail kind of seemed to follow every motion now. "And you're even wearing a coat, Lemon," he had teased her. "Let's get you warmed up."

Liz had been thinking he was going to pile his coat on top of hers, but apparently that wasn't what Jack had in mind. He gave a tug on the hand he was still holding and pulled her close, locking his arms around her. "Are you always this affectionate when you're drunk?" Liz heard herself teasing, not pushing away from him.

Jack had immediately come back with, "Are you always this accepting of affection when you're drunk?"

Touche. She remembered telling him that she might be, and looked up at him while resting her chin on his chest. She vaguely remembered seeing the sky swaying above her before Jack leaned down. He kissed her softly, once, and then pulled back. Again, something clicked.

The next flash, they were fused together at the lips in his limo. His hands were in her hair and hers were on his shoulders. She vaguely recalled tossing her coat onto the other seat and crawling on top of him, telling him against his lips the whole time that she wasn't a lap-sitter. Jack had just kept kissing her and kissing her, and the kisses kept getting deeper and deeper. His hands were clamped tight around her hips, pressing her tight against him.

They were dangerously close to just boffing each other in the limo. Liz pulled back from his lips (in slow motion, with that weird vapor trail thing) and looked down at him. The way she remembered him smiling up at her made her heart skip.

Another flash and suddenly they were laughing, hands joined, getting onto the elevator in his building. Jack had tugged her close and swept his hand under her hair, heading slowly for her lips. She remembered a throat clearing had startled them apart, and they had turned to see an elderly couple glaring at them. She remembered Jack had nodded cordially while she had nonchalantly greeted them, "How's it goin'?" And then they'd both erupted in hysterical laughter, and Liz had buried her face in his chest to stifle the laughter.

Six floors up and the elderly couple got off. She remembered they had watched them go, and as soon as the doors slid shut, she had Jack pinned to the wall and her tongue was in his mouth. Then Jack had spun them, giving her a lovely headiness, before she found herself pinned to the wall.

Jack's hands wandered low, caressing her hips and beyond, sliding down her legs. When he found her knee and started to draw her leg up, around his waist, the elevator dinged and the doors slid open. Liz knew exactly what was going to happen once he dragged her into his penthouse, and for once she was really, completely okay with it.

Another flash and they were making their way down the hallway toward Jack's bedroom, fused together at the lips once again, kissing heatedly. Jack hauled her up against the wall and her legs locked around his waist of their own accord. Her head was spinning in the most enjoyable way and anywhere Jack touched was set immediately ablaze. One of his hands slid up her leg, taking the hem of her dress with it, while she attacked his belt.

Everything moved in slow motion again (yes, with the vapor trails) as Jack pulled away to look at her, search her face. Her head was still spinning and she didn't want to lose that feeling, so she grabbed his face and pulled him back to her. Before she knew what was happening, he was inside her. She had cried out and thrown her head back, hitting it against the wall. The pain had been minimal in comparison to the pleasure and Liz just let it happen, not even caring that she was having sex with her boss against the wall. As long as her head kept spinning and Jack kept making her feel like this, she couldn't care what went on.

The next flash and they were in Jack's bed, having abandoned their wall sex for regular, naked-type sex. Jack's hands were diving roughly into her hair, pushing her head back into the pillows, before his lips were on her neck. Liz had clamped her hands against his shoulders and arched into him, her nails scraping against his skin as she called out his name. She was positive sex wasn't supposed to be that good. It was good enough to make her blackout. It was either that or the alcohol.

Another flash and Jack's lips were still on her neck, their bodies were still joined, and her nails were now digging into his back. She was crying out, so close to the edge, and Jack's lips on her were becoming almost painful. It just made her dig into his back harder.

One more flash and she had thrown her head back into the pillows, crashing over the edge and dragging Jack with her as the most intense, white-hot wave washed over her. Everything tensed and tingled, and she shivered, and her neck throbbed from where his lips had been. Her head continued to spin and Jack rolled off of her and fell back on the bed, grabbing for her hand. Liz tried to recover from what was undoubtedly the most intense sexual experience of her life and listened to her heart thudding in her ears as she succumbed to the wonderful haze and the dizziness.

"Lemon? Lemon..."

Liz startled awake with a loud gasp, her heart still thudding in her ears just like in her dream (memories -- Jenna was right, it had all come screaming back) and she sat up sharply to see Jack looming over her. His hand was on her shoulder, concern on his face, and all she could think about was what she just remembered from the night before.

"I came in here to check on you. Are you alright?"

After what she'd just relived, how the hell was she supposed to answer that?

An R rating. Check that out. That was most excellent, and, well, AWESOME!!!

Flipping through her playlists, she decided against listening to Annie or Phantom or even Wicked, because she just had to have the volume up on those and sing along, and... that was not good for her hangover. Or anyone, for that matter.

Yay for Broadway references.

I *had* to sneak that Broadway ref in -- I still can't get over the adorableness of Liz singing a song from "Annie" in her office!

That was so... so... so... very hot!!! Oh god, I loved it! Especially the wall sex! Oh wow, they were passionate. Excellent descriptions, you certainly got my heart pounding in my ears! And wow, Jack is a total stud in the bedroom! I am so jealous of Liz right now. Wow. That was so great! Now I can't wait to see how she acts around Jack! WOW! And that song that you uploaded was wicked sexy too, nice accompaniment (sp?) to their hot boffing! Ha, this was excellent! Can't wait to read more!

YAY, thank you so so much! I'm glad you liked it. My first R-rated Jack/Liz. EEEEE, scary. Hahaha. Oh, but now the door has been opened ;D

Glad you liked that song, too. I originally heard it on an episode of "The O.C." and it was also used for hot hot sex. So, therefore it is a hot sex song. Bwahaha.

More to come soon!

*fans herself*

That was well, spicy, spicy hot! Oh wow. I mean WOW. This chapter is definetely a keeper. The spice was in all the right places, and geez. Who would have known their sex would be so fantastic? Wait. We all did!

Loved their drunken banter. I wish I could be moderately to severely plastered and still have that bite to my speech. Something to work on...just not when my boss is around ;)

Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter, since I was so iffy about posting an R for the first time for this pairing ;D

And drunken banter is just the best. I have a thing where for every pairing, I have to write them being drunk together at least once. Because that's just a good time for all. Hehehe!

Thanks again, more to come soon!

Six floors up and the elderly couple got off.

That's what she said!

Anyway, fantastic story, I'm thrilled you're writing for the 30 Rock fandom now, your characterizations are always perfect.

Can't wait for more!

Hahahaha! Oh man. "That's what she said" and "...take it out behind the middle school and get it pregnant" are like the best sayings EVER. :D

I'm so glad you liked this, and thank you so much for the comment about characterization. I'm kind of a stickler about that. Even if I bend them a little bit, they've still gotta be the same characters, so thank you thank you!

More to come soon!
